Ettin – Twin Eyes of Gruumsh

It so happens that some ettins, who are distant cousins to the orcs, live among them, following a more or less mutually beneficial agreement (Ettin, Monster Manual, p132). Even if they are not in general extremely loyal towards their allies, the two-headed creatures sometimes pay a strange attention to the rituals of the ones they are supposed to protect.

The Crimson sword

“This longsword is of no ordinary make. Its blade glints red, be it in the light of day or night, and the wolf carved in its pommel makes you shiver when you gaze at it for too long. All the same, it is perfectly balanced and feels comfortably warm in your palm. It would be a waste not to put it to work, right?”

The Crimson Sword is a +1 longsword that once belonged to a vampire noble lady. It is difficult to say if its powers come from its long exposure with its cursed proprietor or enchantment she had someone create to enhance her own terrifying abilities.

Runic Skeleton

Necrotic magic enables bones to be turned into animated and obedient skeletons. Exceptionally powerful rituals imbibe the corpses with such quantities of negative energy that it must be channeled into the bones by means of runes, that shine with a toxic glow.
